Dear Replacement Refs, I would like to send my sincere gratitude to all of you. This has not been an easy situation for you, we would not expect a Division II quarterback to jump into a starting role in an NFL offense and be successful, but unfortunately, that was what was expected of you. While I cannot comment on skill level, not to say that you are not as skilled as your Division I or NFL counterparts, but as they say with rookies: The game is different. There are different rules, a different speed, and different personalities. Not to mention a different audience and vastly different pressure. While there were missed calls and poor decisions, the majority of what was called on the field wasn't much different which should be the biggest complement of all. Some officials might have been better than others, but as a whole, your group performed admirably. You have been getting grief, insulted, threatened, and probably more. But there is at least one person who thanks you for your effort. Thank you Replacement Refs, |
